In its function as the data controller, Wilhelm Layher GmbH & Co. KG, Ochsenbacher Straße 56, 74363 Güglingen-Eibensbach processes your personal data in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the German Federal Data Protection Act (BSDG) and all other relevant laws. You can contact our data protection officer at the address indicated above.
We train our employees who come into contact with personal data and require them to comply with the requirements of data protection legislation in accordance with the principles of GDPR for processing personal data, as defined in Article 5 (1) GDPR.
Collection and processing of personal data
In accordance with customary practice, our provider stores the following information relating to all visits to our website. This information (server log files) includes the date and time, the type of web browser, the operating system used, the domain name of your Internet service provider, the amount of data transferred and similar information. None of this information can be used to identify you personally. This information is required for technical reasons in order to supply you with the requested website contents correctly and is inevitably produced when using the Internet. This data is collected only for statistical purposes and to improve our website.
When you register to use our personalised services, some personal data is collected such as your name, address, contact data and communication data (telephone number, fax number, e-mail address, etc.). Once you are registered with us, you can access content and services that we only offer to registered users. Registered users can also change or delete the data provided, if required. Furthermore, we will provide you with information at any time about your personal data that we have stored and, if you request it, we will change or delete this, providing that this does not conflict with any other laws. Please use the contact data at the end of this data protection statement to contact us.
We use "cookies" (small text files) to expand and improve the content on our website. These cookies are stored on your computer when you visit our home page. In this way we automatically receive certain data such as the IP address, the browser being used and the operating system. Cookies cannot be used to start programs or to transmit viruses to a computer. The information contained in cookies can be used to make navigation easier and to display our websites correctly.
Under no circumstances will the data which we collect be shared with third parties or links be created to your personal data without your permission.
You can of course change your browser settings to prevent cookies being stored on your computer. Please use the help function in your Internet browser to find out how you can change these settings. If you do this, however, you may not be able to make full use of our service.
We use state-of-the-art encryption techniques (e.g. SSL) with HTTPS to protect the security of your data during transmission.
When registering for our “Layher Site Seeing” newsletter, the data you provide us with are used exclusively for this purpose. In addition to this, information that is relevant for the service or registration can also be sent by e-mail.
We require a valid e-mail address for registration. We use the “double opt-in” procedure to verify whether the registration was actually made by the owner of an e-mail address. For this we log the ordering of the newsletter, the sending of the order e-mail and the receipt of the answer requested in this e-mail. No other data is collected. The data is only used for sending the newsletter and is not disclosed to third parties. You may at any time withdraw your consent to your personal data being stored and used to send the newsletter. Every newsletter contains an appropriate link for this. You can also unsubscribe from the newsletter directly on our website or notify us of your requests using the contact data provided at the end of this data protection statement.
If you make contact with us by e-mail or using a contact form, the information provided by you will be stored for the purpose of processing your inquiry and for any possible follow-up questions.
Using and sharing personal data
We only use personal data in the context of the customer relationship for our own purposes relating to products services and marketing. In the event that third parties are involved in any work processes which would require the temporary sharing of your data for processing exclusively for this purpose, we apply the same high standards and require such third parties to comply with data protection provisions under an agreement for the processing of data in accordance with Article 28 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
We would like to use your data to inform you about our products, services and innovations and, where applicable, to ask questions about them. If you object to your data being used for marketing purposes, you can notify us of this informally at any time so that we can block your data accordingly.
If IP anonymisation is activated, the IP address is truncated beforehand within member states of the European Union or in other states party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area, usually before it is sent to the USA. However, in exceptional cases this may only take place locally. Google will use this information on our behalf to evaluate the way you use our website, to collate reports on website activities and in order to provide us with other services related to website and Internet use. The IP address sent by your browser as part of Google Analytics is not combined with other data held by Google.
You can prevent the installation of the cookies by activating the relevant security settings of your browser software at any time; however, we point out that in that case you will not be able to use all the functions of this website.
However, you can prevent data relating to your use of the website being collected and processed by Google as referred to above. To do this, you must download and install the browser plugin from the following link (http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de).

Embedded YouTube videos
Our websites contain embedded YouTube videos. The relevant plug-ins are operated by YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Avenue, San Bruno, CA 94066, USA. When you visit a page which contains a YouTube plug-in, a connection is established to YouTube servers. YouTube is then informed about the page that you visit. If you are logged in using your YouTube account, YouTube can assign your surfing behaviour to you personally. If you wish to avoid this, you should log out of your YouTube account in advance.
If you have disabled the storage of cookies for the Google Ad program, you can expect that no cookies will be set even when you watch YouTube videos. However, YouTube stores nonpersonal use information in other cookies. If you do not wish this to happen, you must block the storage of cookies in your browser.
On our website we give you the opportunity to use social media buttons. The buttons are purely integrated as graphics that contain a link to the appropriate website for the button provider. If you click on the graphics, you are forwarded to the services of the relevant provider and you thus make your data available to this provider. If you do not click on the graphic, there is no exchange of information between you and the providers. You can find information on how the social networks collect and use your data in the conditions of use for the relevant provider. We have integrated the following social media buttons on our website:
1610 S. California Avenue, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA
Gänsemarkt 43, 20354 Hamburg, Germany
2029 Stierlin Court, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA
901 Cherry Avenue, San Bruno, CA 94066, USA
We do not process any personal data when you use Layher's app. However, in order to use the application we need your permission to access the camera on your smart phone. This authorisation is only required so that the application can be used for the purpose for which it was intended. When we respond to a support inquiry, we only use the information you send to us to answer your inquiry.
Our website uses Google Conversion Tracking. If you have come to our website via an advertisement placed by Google, Google AdWords will set a cookie on your computer. These cookies cease to be valid after 30 days and are not used to identify you personally. If the user visits certain pages on our website and the cookie has not yet expired, we and Google can recognise that the user has clicked the advertisement and has been redirected to this website. All Google AdWords customers are given a different cookie. This means that cookies cannot be tracked via the websites of AdWords customers. The information obtained in this way is used to produce conversion statistics for AdWords customers who have opted for conversion tracking. The customers obtain information about the total number of users who have clicked their advertisement and have been redirected to a website with a conversion tracking tag. However, they do not receive any information which can be used to identify users.
If you wish to decline this tracking, you can reject the setting of the required cookie by changing your browser settings to disable the automatic setting of cookies or by changing your browser settings to block cookies from the domain "googleleadservices.com".
Please note that you cannot erase the opt-out cookies as long as you do not wish measuring data to be recorded. Once you have erased all your cookies in the browser, you must then set the relevant opt-out cookie again.
